The iCollab Healthcare team is made up of professional medical practitioners who are passionate about the level of care and knowledge that they provide to our patients.

Dr. Sikander Panesar

Partner | President

Dr. Sikander Panesar is a British Columbia native with strong roots from Surrey. Dr. Panesar graduated medical school in 2016 with an Honour’s degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in Dublin, Ireland while gaining experience in major hospitals and clinics of BC. He has been awarded numerously throughout most of his educational years.

 

Self-taught on a multi-industry family business background, Dr. Panesar has 7+ years of experience in business planning, development, administration and operations management. Dr. Panesar currently practices a hybrid approach with his medical background and business aptitudes by dedicating his career towards evolving primary care administration and management. He maintains strategic partnerships, corporate development, and continues to build on his extensive networks. Dr. Panesar is a founding partner of iCollab Healthcare – providing a new approach to multidisciplinary team-based healthcare in the community.

 

Dr. Panesar believes strongly in solution-oriented management, professionalism, collaboration, ethics, mentorship, and mindfulness. He enjoys traveling, restaurants, parks, and spending time with his family on their blueberry farm.

Dr. Hardarsh Panesar

Partner | Director

Dr. Hardarsh Panesar (Darshy) was born and raised in beautiful Surrey, British Columbia. He completed his high school education in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. He then went on directly to Ireland for his medical education and graduated with an honour’s degree at the National University of Ireland Galway in June 2019.

 

In Ireland, Dr. Panesar was an executive committee member for the North American Irish Medical Students Association and NUIG Cancer Society. Through his passion for community services, he helped establish a health education program for the youth and helped establish the Annual Teddy Bear Hospital in Galway. Moreover, he helped organize the National Annual Irish Med Games and the very first Relay for Life in Galway to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society.

 

Currently, Dr. Panesar is a Family Medicine resident at Western University in London, Ontario. He continues to be an active member of the community and hopes to continue bringing a positive change wherever he goes.

 

Dr. Panesar is a founding partner in iCollab Healthcare and has an active role in its’ direction. After completing his training, Dr. Panesar will join the centre to provide full scope primary care for all patients.

In his free time, Dr. Panesar enjoys playing sports, including ice hockey, tennis, badminton, table tennis, and basketball. You will also catch him at a Vancouver Canucks game or a Toronto Raptors Game as he is a strong follower of both teams.

Dr. Shivraj Riar

MB, BCh, BAO, FRCP (C) Endocrinology and Metabolism
Partner | Medical Director

Dr. Shivraj Riar did his medical school training in Ireland, followed by Internal Medicine training with the University of Saskatchewan and was based in Regina. He completed his Endocrinology and Metabolism Fellowship at the University of Calgary.

Dr. Riar is part of an Endocrinology Clinic focusing on Thyroid Cancer and Endocrine Complications of Malignancies at BC Cancer in Surrey. In addition to this he also has his private clinic where he sees General Endocrinology patients. Furthermore, he is part of the Surrey Memorial Hospital Endocrinology Call group for inpatient care and the Jim Pattison Diabetes Centre.

Through his exposure in the city of Surrey and to different medical systems in Saskatchewan and Alberta, he identified gaps in care in BC and is an active partner in the creation of a multidisciplinary clinic with iCollab Healthcare. His goal is to further enhance primary care and beyond for people in the Surrey community through his mentorship at the clinic.

Dr. Harpreet Kaur

MBBS, Cert. Canadian Healthcare (Hons.)
Senior Team Lead | Administration & Management

Dr. Harpreet finished her bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2015, from D.Y Patil Medical College, India. Soon after graduating, she worked as a Medical Officer in a hospital setting for almost 2 years where she learned how to examine patients, take their complete history, order investigations, and provide treatment. After moving to Canada, Dr. Harpreet pursued further studies in a post-graduate program, Certificate in Canadian Healthcare, at Mohawk College in Hamilton, ON, for which she received Honours and awards for high academic achievements. While pursuing her studies, she enrolled for volunteering at the Hamilton General Hospital to help the elderly patients suffering from dementia.

To add her skills and experience to an existing healthcare organization, Dr. Harpreet started working as a Medical Administrator at the Ancaster Endoscopy Clinic where she worked for 2 years before moving to Vancouver. After that, she started working at the Vancouver General Hospital in the Eye Care Department with a Retina Specialist. Working in a fast-paced hospital setting, managing more than 50 patients along with handling phone calls, and performing administration duties daily, it helped her acquire extensive knowledge to encounter challenging situations in the work environment. Additionally, she worked at a Mental Health Clinic, Chakra Health Centre, for almost 3 years where she gained leadership qualities while working as a main administrator.

Currently, Dr. Harpreet is working as a Senior Team Lead in Administration and Management at iCollab Healthcare.

Her hobbies and interests include singing, reading books and learning about new skills. She loves connecting with nature and goes hiking regularly. Also, to stay active, she enjoys swimming and yoga along with meditation to maintain mental balance.
