Childhood Immunizations
Childhood vaccines protect your child against serious preventable illnesses. Here's an overview of how the schedule works and how iCollab helps keep it on track.
Protect against serious preventable illness
Given on a schedule for best protection
Fallen behind? Catching up is usually possible
Some given via BC school programs
Childhood immunizations are one of the most effective ways to protect your child from serious preventable illnesses. They follow a schedule designed so each vaccine is given when it offers the best protection.
How the schedule works
Vaccines are given at set ages through infancy and childhood, often as a series, with some boosters later on. In BC, certain immunizations are also offered through school programs. Your physician can keep track of where your child is and what's next.
If you've missed one
If your child has fallen behind — for any reason — it's usually possible to catch up. Don't worry about a missed date; just speak with your physician, who can advise on getting back on schedule.
How iCollab helps
Our family physicians review and provide childhood immunizations as part of your child's care. Ask at a visit, or book to get your child up to date. Questions are always welcome — it's a good thing to talk through.
For current BC immunization schedules and eligibility, your physician can advise based on the latest provincial guidance.
